The boat that's going to bring us around the ocean is an Allures 39.9 named «Odine». It’s a 2013 model that was launched at sea the spring 2015. Until that point it have been stored at the shipyard in France, and was picked up by the previous owner there. And it has never been sailing around the world. Before now!

This is a 40-ft. aluminum boat with a centerboard, which means it can lift the keel/centerboard (that is just a slight meter deep in the water) and up and down when needed. This is a huge advance if any ground appears, the keel will tilt up at that point. It works perfectly if you are on shallow waters or places where it’s difficult to get around with a sailboat. Amazing of you are sailing straight up on a beach!

Aluminum boats are popular boats when sailing great distances. There are two reasons for that, the strength in the hull and it requires less maintenance. That suite us as a family very good.

The boat is equipped with two solar panels and a wind generator that will provide us with electricity for the devices on the boat. It has also a bow thruster. and the motor is a Volvo Penta: 55 hp. We have upgraded the boat with a Rocna anchor and a water maker. Laundry machine and a power generator have been installed as well. When it comes to navigation devices there is a 3G radar autopilot, map plotter and VHF radio installed. Safety raft and survival suits are of course on board. First aid suitcase, fire extinguisher and flare are mandatory.

Additional we have brought an Zodiac dinghy with an 15hp Suzuki engine, that will bring us to shore when we need that.
